Hello and welcome here! My name is Andrée-Anne Généreux and I’m the creator behind Triplets & Co, based in Winnipeg. I started designing and making clothing for girls two years ago after having five daughters in three years (three of them being identical triplets!). I’m highly inspired by girl fashion, mainly because I am surrounded by five girls every minute of every day.

I was born and raised in Gatineau, Québec and was lucky to receive a scholarship at the University of Nevada for swimming. Studying abroad gave me a lot of great experiences, including improving my English but best of all, meeting my husband. He was a dashing tourist that sat right next to me and my friends at the Aria Hotel pool, and after one hour of talking to that tall ginger, I was already falling in love with him. Months later, I followed him back to Winnipeg. Ten years later we have five kids and I am now fully integrated into the prairie way of life. (I’m still working on surviving the winters!)

I always loved sewing. When I was in high school I would make fabric book protectors, pencil cases and so many distressed jeans. After moving to Winnipeg, I received a sewing machine as a housewarming gift and only had time to make a huge blanket for my sister. Soon after, I got pregnant for the first time. Our oldest daughter was born and 16 months later, our second daughter followed suit. It wasn’t long before my husband proposed to me and I said yes. We planned an amazing, intimate wedding filled with close family, great food and lots of dancing. If we knew what we now know about what would happen next, I wonder what we would’ve done! In retrospect I wouldn’t change a thing, of course. We love all our children!

Our wedding was amazing and we immediately got pregnant. Six weeks later I was so nauseous that I had to go to the hospital. I knew I was pregnant but I had no idea what I was about to find out. When the ultrasound tech asked me if I was on fertility, I said no, but didn’t think anything of her question. I can honestly say that being told that there were three babies in my belly was the biggest shock I ever had in my life. “That happens naturally? Identical triplets exist? Why me?!”

We are so grateful that they were born healthy, at five and a half pounds each. We are very lucky that we did not have to spend any time in the NICU. Life after their birth was quite busy — I actually don’t remember anything during those first two years! Now that our girls are 7, 6 and 4, I feel like I have all the time in the world so I was able to pick up sewing again. I still feel like I never have enough time, but my sewing room is my happy place. The sound of my sewing machine is soothing to my soul.

I love spreading joy and that’s why I started Triplets & Co. I design and make all the products myself and I love using natural fabrics, retro colours and happy patterns. I try as much as possible to reduce textile waste by repurposing scraps of material into other products, such as my Nappy Kitties.

I hope my designs will bring joy to your family. It sure does in ours.
